Summer Break 2010

Capri will be closed for Summer Break from June 28th through July 5th. Classes back in session July 6th.

Boom-B-Ques ~ Gulf Coast Clean-up Effort

Capri continuously reaches out to charitable organizations in the surrounding communities to show our appreciation and to help make a difference in the world. In our most recent efforts to volunteer our services we (Capri) have signed up with a non-profit organization to aid in the efforts of the Gulf Coastal clean-up due to the disastrous BP oil explosion/spill. Our students are currently collecting the hair that they cut from our clients and placing it into a specified receptacle to be sent off to another organization where the volunteers will then stuff the hair into nylon stockings during events which are called "Boom-B-Ques". The hair-stuffed nylons will be placed and used along the gulf coast to soak up excess oil from the spillage since hair soaks up oil at an amazing rate of speed. We will continue to participate in the coastal clean-up effort as needed to help aid in keeping our environment safe and clean.

In the December 19, 2007 U.S. NEWS & WORLD REPORT on Best Careers 2008, hairstylist/cosmetologist was featured as one of the newest best careers. Four noncollege careers were added to the list of the best careers for 2008. Hairstylist also ranked No. 1 in job satisfaction.
