Admissions Information

Applicants of Capri Garfield Ridge School of Beauty Culture will meet the following admissions criteria:

Basic Cosmetology

Provide an official *transcript of graduation from an
approved school providing secondary education or pass an Abiltiy-to-benefit Test.
Must be 16 years of age or older.
Photo ID & Social Security Card.
Must complete an application for admission and participate in a personal interview.

Instructor Programs

Provide an official *transcript of graduation from an approved school providing secondary education.
Have a current Illinois Cosmetology License or proof of application for testing.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Photo ID & Social Security Card.
Must complete an application for admission and
participate in a personal interview.

POLICY FOR VALIDATING TRANSCRIPTS

All students will be required to provide a an official copy of either a high school transcript, GED transcript or Home School transcript in order to enter in to all programs of study at Capri Beauty College. (A copy of a high school transcript will be accepted provided it has been notarized to be a true and exact copy of the original.) These documents need to be presented to the admissions department no later than the day of orientation.

All transcripts or official documents must be presented to the registrar in a sealed envelope with the school/institution logo or faxed from the official school/institution where the student received the transcript or official document. The registrar will review all high school, GED and home school transcripts to confirm that they are official documents. No student will be admitted if the registrar does not have documentation that properly validates high school graduation.

To verify that a school is recognized by the Ill. State Board of Education (ISBE) the registrar will check the ISBE website; www.isbe.net. Home schooled students will be required to provide a transcript from their school and certified by a school official.

Appropriate steps would be enforced for other states as well. A student that submits a diploma or official document from a foreign country will have their document translated by an appropriate official to verify that their diploma is a valid high school diploma.

Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy

The Satisfactory Progress Policy is consistently applied to all students enrolled at the school. It is printed in the catalog to ensure that all students receive a copy prior to the first day of class. The policy complies with the guidelines established by the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts and Sciences (NACCAS) and the federal regulations established by the United States Department of Education.
